  • He’s going to leave. Giannis probably already knows it too. He‘ll give the Bucks this upcoming season, but with this same team, they’ll choke again like this past season. The real question is, where is he going? Because he has some excellent choices. I feel like GS would be too easy for him. That’s why I don’t think they’re a legitimate destination.

    Daniel CalvoDaniel Calvo13 күн мурун
    • They def will choke again if they don't make player changes. There is no way this same team goes ECF deep with so many other teams in the East who are mismatches against them in the playoffs. Sure they can have the best regular season record but come playoff time, the kid gloves are off and Giannis gonna feel the pain once again. Where he goes afterwards is also a dice roll but I don't think he does Milwaukee dirty and leaves without some compensation so a sign-and-trade will probably happen.

  • I don’t think he’s going to Dallas . I think Miami’s the move for him .

  • As a lifelong Bucks fan, not gonna lie this stuff kinda pisses me off. It’s a different front office and a very different culture from when Jack was there in ‘11. All they need is that 2nd star or the right collection of floor spacers and defenders to put them over the top. This Bucks team reminds me a lot of the mid 2000’s Mavericks, they’ve got their star, he just needs the piece(s) and I think Milwaukee can get them.

    Andrew EversonAndrew Everson15 күн мурун
    • @BludAardvark Firstly, I was comparing this year’s Bucks team to the ‘06 Mavericks, not the ‘11 Mavericks (hence the phrase “mid 2000’s”). The Mavericks were not very responsible with their salary cap at the time either, Michael Finley and Keith Van Horn, aging players well past their prime were making over 15 million dollars on that team that season. Erick Dampier and Jerry Stackhouse, also past their prime (or in the case of Dampier, not very good), were making over 8 million a season (which was more money at the time than it is now). Just like Avery Johnson, Bud isn’t going to lift them to a chip unless he really reflects on his past and realizes adjustments have to be made. They’ll need to acquire a couple of good players or one great player to get them over that hump, and I think that’s achievable with guys like Chris Paul, Bogdan Bogdanovic, Buddy Hield, Victor Oladipo and a few others becoming available. The Bucks have expiring contracts, 2 first round picks and a young asset in Donte Divencenzo that would all be fine trade pieces. Secondly, as for the Middleton contract, what were they supposed to do? Let him walk? He’s an efficient 20 point scorer who can go off the dribble at times and play solid defense on the wing. You don’t just let that guy walk. Brook Lopez is one of the league’s better rim protectors and is one of the few centers that can provide Giannis with the space he needs to work inside, he’s a very valuable piece to that team; they couldn’t let him walk away either. The mistakes they made were extending Eric Bledsoe early and just not dipping into the luxury tax to resign Malcolm Brogdan. You can redeem those mistakes by making the correct moves this offseason.

      Andrew EversonAndrew Everson12 күн мурун
    • FO/Culture is different but the salary cap sheet don't lie. Middleton has big long term money tied up and he's not the 2nd guy to bail out Giannis. Refusing to sign Brogdon for what he ended up signing for (20 million) was also kinda boneheaded since good players are always worth their fair price and for small market teams with championship aspirations, the only way to add big time talent is through trades. Who wants the one dimensional corpses of Eric Bledsoe/Brook Lopez so the Bucks get a meaningful talent in return? Smart championship teams are flexible with their roster/salaries so that they can keep changing things up when needed. The Mavs leading up to their championship in 2011 were that. This current Bucks built around Giannis is NOT! Also did you not see Bud get absolutely outcoached in the playoffs? If he already struggles with adjustments against better coaches/teams with his current roster, there is no hope for him next season. So unless Bucks somehow get that one guy who puts them over with Giannis to help Bud out, the title isn't running through Milwaukee at all.

  • He better leave, Bud ain't it. The most overrated coach in the league, idgaf. I saw this same shit in Atlanta. Dude is a regular season coach, he will always let his teams down as far as coaching, he cannot make adjustments to save his fucking life. He's a floor raiser, Bucks need a coach to raise the ceiling. Bud is the white Dwyane Casey.

  • They gotta take the kid away from the 3pt line and PG duties and get him posting up near the basket. He does a ton of damage from the mid-range and in, and is a very good passer and can find shooters out of double-teams with easier passing lanes. The Bucks need a legit PG who can play solid defense, be a decent shooter and get Gianni like 6-8 easy points off the pick-and-roll.

  • Giannis needs to have a better back to the basket game. Like Jokic. Because if he's going full steam to the rim it gives him less of a chance to properly analyze the court and make the right pass to the wide open guy. And those baby hooks are a lot easier (And they can be shot with a lot more control) than a hard drive to the basket with a defender contesting you all the way through.

  • So... since he was a welcomed on ATS maybe started talking ish and speaking non-truths? Using the fact that he was a guest on the show almost like a pass to speak bs? These Podcasts are taking over from ESPN. With these Podcasts growing in strength and players/coaches looking to tell their own narratives without as much censorship... ESPN maybe sees this world as a threat because it's an arena that many former players may not want to delve into because they know the nature of the media and how they tell stories. Ask a former athlete... would you rather tell your own story the way you want to or would you rather go on national television and sometimes be told to say certain things to push an agenda? As more and more players start these podcasts, less people will tune into ESPN for First Take. It is not going coming from someone who played the game on the same level like Stephen Jackson, Matt Barnes, JJ Redick, Carmelo Anthony, KD who are all well-spoken and highly intelligent individuals who know how to hold a conversation and keep the guests engaged in the right way without coming across as aggressive or abrasive in nature. SAS probably just trying to keep the numbers high to secure his bag by belittling these shows and making side remarks in passing.

In hindsight you can say those weren’t very good teams, but the Knicks had Carmelo, and the Nets thought they had something in Deron Williams, Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett, Brook Lopez and Joe Johnson. I’m not trying to offend anybody, but I think bringing race into this is plain wrong.

I think big time players would want to go play with Giannis assuming they get paid huge contracts. It could be a trade too. I just think if he decides to stay, they’re going to get him another big time player. Because if they can’t guarantee him that, I think he’s gone 100%

Milwaukee built EVERYTHING around him and they’ll do whatever it takes to keep him! 2 time MVP (he’s the man right now) Yes! They build a wall in the playoffs and he kicks it to the deadliest shooting pair in NBA history In golden state. He's built for hear culture and they have 2 young shooters (hero, Robinson,) veteran shooters( crowder, Dragic) and Jimmy butler. Its simply no way he stays in Milwaukee. That’s why I’m happy Denver beat Clippers. Smaller markets have no chance to win unless they build up from the drafts but these bigger market teams don’t have to worry about it since they can just say their city is amazing and people will just willingly go there.
