  • By my count, 4 PGs have been their championship team's best player: Magic, Isiah, Billups (very arguable), Curry in 2015. Kyrie won't be joining that list but let's stop acting like that Celtics team was championship caliber. The East was all time bad in 2018, LeBron made the Finals with no help at age 33, that run by the Celtics was purely circumstantial (1-7 on road, 3 wins vs Philly by 1-2 possessions). The East was so much more competitive last year and the Celtics would have still lost to the Bucks if Kyrie shot 47%

No matter how talented you guys are in the court if you don't have any genuine relationship and connection off the court as well, it will not work out. I can't wait for Kyrie vs Kemba thing or should I say Nets vs Celtics. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 No injuries anymore so we can enjoy the game.

    • @VA Sports and entertainment Sorry Doc rivers is such an overrated coach, he wanted to be traded because he did not want to be apart of a rebuilding team. Also another reason why he is overrated is because he NEVER developed his own players, the only player he developed in boston was pretty much Rajon rondo, and i guess you could say al jefferson and tony allen. So overall he can only be a good coach if he has established players from other teams or he takes over and the homegrown player was already established.

Media narratives and everything have people convinced but we saw the shot making and mentality of this guy on the biggest stage multiple times and that's something that cant be said for a lot of superstars

    NG23NG235 ай мурун
    • Yeah but he should have been more mature and not act like he's Kobe, rather adjust to the new situation and take over when needed. I've always said he should average,in a situation like that,at least 7-8 maybe more assists. He's always around 5,that's not good.

    • @Pre Law I mean no one is gonna go to the Phoenix Suns and turn them into a contender but you understand the level I'm tryna get at. Every great player needs a good team or system to do something meaningful. No one has ever won by themselves. Its part of why I always laugh when people say Kyrie wasnt doing anything with the Cavs until Lebron. If Lebron means Love, Mozgov, Jr, Shump plus a group of solid vets and role players then yeah lol

      NG23NG235 ай мурун
    • @NG23 According to your definition, the tier 1 players would be Lebron, KD & Harden with Steph as a distant 4th. Giannis doesn't instantly make his team a contender, until he got Mike Budenholzer as a coach he had never even made out of the 1st round. Kawhi hasn't proved that his presence alone makes his team a contender, he was drafted to a team that prior to him was a contender and then traded to a team that also was a contender prior to him.

  • Too many players that played the same way. Too many guys that needed the ball in their hands. Danny Ainge should have made Kyrie's and Brad's jobs easier by trading some of the young players. Kyrie was a shit leader, that did not understand that with all the scorers on the team, that he should have sacrificed some shots for the team chemistry but he wanted to play like a mini Kobe. The young guys were way too arrogant. They let the media get in too their heads bigging them up after that playoff run against a weak eastern conference. The young guys wanted to be allstars in a team where they were not the first or second option. That is a recipe for disaster.

      Jahden GreggJahden Gregg5 ай мурун
    • Say Kyrie is a shit leader but they did great his 1st year there and no problems being reported in that lockeroom. It was only the 2nd season where Management forced Hayward into the starting lineup that we start hearing chatter about players egos in that lockeroom. Didn't help that Ainge fed Rozier ego in the offseason making him feel like a damn superstar starting point gaurd(Want evidence? Look at Terry Rozier call to Ainge when Robert Williams got drafted. He asked Ainge before the pick who he was taking and Ainge told him who. Rozier felt he was on FIRST NAME basis with the GM on a NBA TEAM!! That doesn't help a young player's ego in maintaining discipline on a contending NBA TEAM!!!) You won't see the Spurs and Popovich try this shit with a player who used to be in the G League!!! But Ainge only cares about Draft Assets being attained through trades not players especially veteran players. Jaylen Brown thought this team could be better than the Larry Bird Celtics before the season started and Tatum fell in love with the headlines calling him the next Kobe Bryant(Rest in Peace). This team grew complacent before the season started namely the young guys and Brad Stevens didn't help matters with showing favoritism towards Hayward or allowing the young guys to get away with terrible play without discipline. My biggest gripes of that season was how shit the bench unit was. Every time that Kyrie, Horford, and Marcus Smart sat on the bench to rest; the Celtics would always get blown out in scoring which gave up big leads in record time. That team only went as far as those 3 guys. Albeit, Tatum started to wise up at the end of the year but at that point his game was already too inconsistent cause of a subpar offseason.

    • @Rashard Stallworth They should have gotten rid of Terry Rozier and Jalen brown. Sure it's a risk with Kyrie potentially leaving. But Danny Ainge has got to insure that Brad can manage the egos and he couldn't because the issue of Haywood was too much for young players to handle. The young players were not professional enough to understand that how good you are playing is not the only factor of getting minutes. The amount of money a player gets paid is the biggest reason why players get certain minutes. Ainge did not want to lose trade value on Haywood so he made sure Haywood got more minutes and shots then some kids on rookie deals. Ainge should have traded some of these young guys. He put Brad and Kyrie in a weak position.

      H OzmanH Ozman5 ай мурун

The bucks went from a young first round team to a 60 win powerhouse and sixers had the most talented starting 5 in the league. That's where the teammate chemistry was messed up at, and on top of that Kyrie was not a leader and couldn't carry that team to a championship. He should have just stayed with Bron, so he could've got a few more rigns bottom line.

    • Fidel Gonzalez no, When has Steve or Paxson averaged 28 points thin the finals? Kyrie did just hit a final shot while Lebron scores 60% of the teams points Lebron averaged literally 1 more basket in the 2016 finals. The game after draymond was suspended for verbal abuse, Kyrie had 41 Lebron had 40. Game 7 the game went scoreless the last 4 minutes until Kyrie hit the shot on the unanimous MVP.. don’t bring up Jordan ever again

  • Kyrie was the problem. He's overhyped and he cannot be the best player on a team.

    DreamsDreams5 ай мурун
    • To me, coaching was the problem. Brad Stevens just didn’t know how to handle the situation. The rotations were too inconsistent. That’s why Kyrie likes ty lie cuz he knew how real with superstar egos ( I mean he played with Kobe AND shaq)

    • Celtics fan here. I hate Kyrie Irving. But he is definitely good enough to be the alpha on a championship team. His first year with the Celtics, before he got hurt they were 100% championship caliber team. Kyrie was a great facilitator, using his own scoring threat as bait to get open shots for his teammates. There were times in 2018 when I thought he was too unselfish. The problem is that Kyrie wasn't committed to playing the right way in 2019. He was also a cancer in the locker room. He's still good enough as a basketball player to lead a team to a championship, but he has to get his mind right, and I don't think that will ever happen.

    • @marsrox2 facts are not excuses. Kobe lost in the first round at age 27 and his ability to lead was also brought into question, led 2 championship teams by 30. Sometimes failure teaches great players how to succeed, let's wait and see before talking out of our asses.

    • S Wavey What happen prior does matter because it set the stage up. If Bron don’t score 16 points straight in the 14th or assist on them other passes it futile. Ray Allen shot don’t matter if they never get to the moment.. So no he didn’t save his legacy. He did what he was brought into to do. Take and make big shots. Ray did just that. Ray stated this out his own mouth.kgworld.info/wiki/video/2pSac7mAgaB8wG4

    • Fire Angel Chris guess what, lebron could’ve had 60 points before that but it wouldn’t have mattered because he bricked the game tying 3 and Ray Allen hit it. It’s a fact that if Ray missed then that’s another finals loss, can’t argue that.
